In case you've just joined us...what I'm doing is.. I found a huge pile of my 7 inch singles in the side room laying dormant and seemingly unloved ( which is not the case really ) and I decided I wouldn't interfere with the order they had assembled themself into and pick up the pile and go thru them 10 at a time and record them and podcast them and post it on this blog. I have no idea which 10 singles are coming up next !! And I'm having a great time doing it....

#71 Bler
Bler bler ..luv ist bler....we've all copped a bit of bler in our time...so has Vicky it seems
Chin up Vick at least you've got a My Bloody Valentine haircut - nowt wrong with that !
Bob's first outa the blocks today....on the House Of Teeth label...the boys winding up towards the end...so much so you can just hear their hair falling out....must be that bler vibe again.
Even As We Speak follow, even if they did get some dodgy production advice ( check out the bollocks sampling work near the end ), our friend Vicky then appears and then a clippity cloppy jaunty falsetto-esque number from James, with just a hint of Tenpole Tudor swirling in the air ( what were they thinking ?? ).
"Tears Fa" afterwards with some nifty xylophone work, then a b-side to what's not one of 14 Iced Bears best efforts ( the a-side is "World I Love" ) and a three peice Sydney band "Living With Robert", a quality little 3 tracker.
Surly Ed's up after that ( with a blues harp stuck in his gob and a brass section on the boil ), then another one of the zillion great Waterfront bands The Honeys and lastly our old mate Mr Camilleri rocks ups with a VM cover.
you know what to do :)

#70 - bit of an Aussie fest
Tangled Shoelaces were a 5-piece from Brisbane, this 4 track Ep as far as I know their only release. The Champagne Edge were from Melbourne ( and begat another band Dorian Gray ) and released a 4 tracker on Au Go Go Recs. A few other reps from Melbourne - of course The Hunnas ( with Conny Plank's help ), The Birthday Party ( though long gone to the UK by the time of Release The Bats ) and The Ears. And Sydney gets a guernsey via The Fester Brothers and Laughing Clowns.
Otherwise we have a ragtag OS crew in the shape of Josef K, Gentle Despite and The Higsons ( the latter turning up in the last 2 mixes bizzarely )
Enjoy :)
